Please read the system requirements before making your purchase. You MUST choose software for your operating system (Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, or Android). Software designed for one operating system will NOT work on another operating system unless otherwise noted.

XL PRO SERIES REPORTS

The XL Pro Series reports are Vanguard, HomeTrex, Heritage, TexTrex Pro, Home Sentinel, and Legacy. XL Pro Series report run on Windows PCs. 

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

• Microsoft Windows (7 or newer)

• Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office (2016 or newer, 32 bit or 64 bit)

• 4GB RAM (8GB is recommended)

• Intel i5 or better processor is recommended

• PDF Print Driver. Windows 10 users should use the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF print driver. It is listed with your printers. Users of older versions of Windows will need a suitable PDF Print Driver such as BULLZIP PDF. A free version of BULLZIP PDF is available from the Free Stuff section of this website.

WINDSURANCE SERIES REPORTS

WindSurance reports are available for Windows, Mac, iOS, iPadOS, and Android

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 

WindSurance for Windows

• Microsoft Windows (7 or newer) 

• Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office (2016 or newer), 32 bit or 64 bit 

• 4GB RAM (8GB is recommended) 

• Intel i5 or better processor is recommended


WindSurance for Mac

• macOS 10.13 (or newer)

• Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office (2016 or newer), 32 bit or 64 bit 

• 4GB RAM (8GB is recommended)  

• Apple Silicon M1 or Intel i5 (or better) processor is recommended

• A PDF Print Driver capable of publishing (aka Distilling or Flattening) encrypted PDFs or XFA PDFs. Recent versions of macOS do not have a suitable built-in PDF Print Driver. There are several free and Open Source PDF Print Drivers available. There is also a very good PDF Print Driver called PDF Printer available from the Mac App Store.

WindSurance for iOS, iPadOS, and Android

• WindSurance reports for iOS, iPadOS, and Android will run directly on your device (not on a cloud service).

• WindSurance reports for iOS, iPadOS, and Android are Interactive PDFs. They require third-party PDF filler and editor that is capable of handing image insertion and is capable or working with encrypted PDFs. We recommend PDF Expert Professional or I Love PDF for iOS and iPadOS.  Please read GENERAL INFORMATION below for additional information.

InspectorLogic reports are available for Windows, Mac, iOS, iPadOS, and Android

PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS

For optimal performance the following photo specifications are recommended. for all reports and all operating systems

• VGA (640x480) If VGA is not available on your camera, select the smallest physical size photo (megapixels) 

• 72DPI. On most cameras the DPI is combined with with compression and color depth as a single setting which is usually called Quality (or something similar). Always select the lowest quality setting. The lowest setting will produce a very good quality photo. There is no benefit to a higher pixel density than 72DPI unless you will be printing to photo paper. 72DPI is sufficient for all other paper types and for PDF.  

• 4:3 aspect ratio, landscape mode (most digital cameras default to 4:3 aspect ratio). Not all cameras properly support EXIF Portrait Modes. Photos taken in Portrait Mode may not display correctly or may require manual placement.

GENERAL INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

Different operating systems have different features and different capabilities. It is imperative that software is chosen that will operate with the operating system that you are using. Some software will work with more than one operating system but the available features and overall performance will vary from one operating system to another. If you don't know which operating system you have or need, please call BEFORE you make your purchase.

MacOS, iOS, and iPadOS are NOT the same operating system. Do not purchase a Mac version if you intend to use the software on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Conversely, some iOS and iPadOS software will work on Macs that have a Silicon M1 chip and macOS 11 or newer. Do NOT purchase an iOS or iPadOS version for use on a Mac unless you are certain that it will work on your Mac. Call us for assistance if you are unsure. 

Windows and macOS are NOT compatible operating systems. Some software such as InspectorLogic Pro and some WindSurance reports will work on either Windows or macOS but the installer files are different and they have slightly different features based on the operating system. 

GENERAL INFORMATION - continued

Most inspection software does NOT run directly on iOS, iPadOS, or Android. Many of our competitors advertise that their software runs on iOS, iPadOS, or Android but the software is actually running on a cloud service such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure. In that case, the iOS, iPadOS, or Android device is only being used as a terminal. Any software can be set up to run remotely. That is not the same as the software actually running on the device.

Our iOS, iPadOS, and Android reports RUN ON YOUR DEVICE, NOT ON A CLOUD SERVICE.

RAM is NOT the same thing as Mass Storage. RAM is your computer's (including phones, tablets, etc.) working memory. Mass storage is your hard drive or other built-in storage medium. RAM affects your system's performance. Mass storage has almost no appreciable affect on system performance. 

PAID SUPPORT OPTIONS

Support for BestInspectors.Net and WindSurance software that is no longer covered by a free support plan or an extended support plan is available in 30 minute increments. Most BestInspectors.Net and WindSurance support requests can be resolved in a single 30 minute session. Support for third-party software and general computer support may take longer. Purchase a minimum of two 30 minute sessions for third-party and general computer support. If the session does not exceed 30 minutes, the second session fee wil be refunded. If the session exceeds 30 minutes, yhou will be required to purchase additional 30 minute increments.

  • $55 per 30 minutes - Third-party software and general computer support. Non-customers.




MAINTENANCE PLAN
Adds protection against technology changes and losing software, extends initial support and updates period, and discounted paid support for third-party software or general computer support


$ 49.95 per six months
  • Only $49.95 for six months. A maintenace plan includes ALL updates for the duration of the plan. Protect against changes in standardized forms (WDI, WDO, Citizens, etc) and technology driven updates. The Maintenance Plan covers ALL software made in a single purchase. Maintenance plans MUST be purchased within 30 days of the qualifing software purchase. Purchase in six month increments.
